Daddy's turn...

Your mother and I were working on Daddy's house to get it ready to sell it so that we can focus on your new bedroom next. We are still trying to figure out what colours. Mum painted her kitchen cupboards so that the place looks nice for your arrival. We're getting ready for our trip to Florida as we leave on Sunday to go visit Auntie Donna and Jaime. We've bought a little rubber duckie for them to open when we get there and then we'll tell them the exciting news about you. I know they will be so excited. We are spending 5 days there and are going to have so much fun with them. I'm a bit nervous about flying but Mummy will help me through it. This will be our first flight and first real trip together. Hope you enjoy the flight too. At least we'll be nice and warm for a few days then back home for Christmas and New Years before we are off to sunny Las Vegas in January. You'll be a good experienced traveller by the time you finally arrive. We are off to bed now as we are both very tired these days.

Good night!

one week older

well baby, you're a week older now and things are still going great. i've been feeling fine, aside from the odd cramp but nothing to complain about. last night i dreamed that there were two of you inside me and perhaps there is....can't wait to get the ultrasound to know for sure. your dad is so excited and has been reading lots of articles and books about you. we are starting to talk about how we are going to decorate your room. we are thinking about a mural scene, dad likes a finding nemo underwater theme and i'm not sure yet. we were looking at some clothes the other day that we've already bought for you, so tiny and cute. my first real appointment is on monday with the doctor so i'm a bit anxious about that but excited too. now i can't wait for every week to end so that we're one step closer to meeting you. well that's it for now, we'll write you more soon though.

love mom and dad. xo.

week eight

well little licorice, Today your Mommy and I went to your Aunt Trish and Uncle Tony's House to tell them about you. I went in the house wearing my coat, and brought some cake from nana and Papa's from the night before. And when I took my coat off Aunt Trish noticed the ribbon I was wearing that said" New Dad". She said "what's that goofy thing you're wearing ?" Then I told her to read it, so she did and yelled out "No way! Really, Really?". She said she was just dreaming that we would get pregnant and she started crying. Even Giacomo was laughing and giggling and he's only 5 months old. Your other cousins Amelia and Cosimo were there too and they were very excited to hear the news. Uncle Tony was at work tonight  but Aunt Trish called him to tell him and he said we should call you Tony. Cosimo said he thinks were going to have a boy and so does Aunt Trish , we'll see if they're right !

Your Mommy and I want to wait till delivery day to find out if you're a boy or a girl! Either way I'm super excited , So is your Mom by the way!

PS. your mom hopes to hear from the doctor tomorrow.

in the beginning.....

Well this is our first post to start off our new blog for our new little licorice, peanut, pumpkin, buddy and whatever else your dad seems to come up with. it all started a couple weeks ago when we took the home pregnancy test and it came up positive. i couldn't believe it so i made your dad take me out to buy a second test. the second one also told us how far along and was more definitive as it actually said 'pregnant' on it, rather than just the plus sign which seemed to confuse your dad.

It's now been a couple weeks and we finally believe that yes we are expecting you in June. this was an exciting week as we decided to tell the family to start with. i'm only 8 weeks so we'll wait a bit longer before telling friends. last night was mommy's family and we bought a cake that said, 'Number six in June, hope you're over the moon!' Gran Anne took a minute to figure it out and Grampa Jim was a bit slow too but everyone was very happy. Then we went over to Aunt Amanda's and Uncle Chris's to tell them and your cousins. We gave the kids chocolates in the shape of baby carriages and they quickly figured it out. Then a trip to Uncle Jon and Aunt Krystal's to tell them. Krystal had already guessed it and Jon seemed quite surprised. Baby Jessica is very excited to have a new playmate soon.

Tonight we went to Nana and Papa's house to tell them. Daddy couldn't wait any longer. We got another cake that said 'Here comes #4, hope you're ready for more!' Again, it took a minute but once they figured it out, everyone was very happy. Nana kept repeating 'Oh my God' and they were very excited for us. Next will be telling Aunt Trish, Uncle Tony and more cousins. Daddy got a 'New Dad' ribbon to wear to their house to see if they can figure it out.

Tonight we've been adding to our long list of names for you. Nothing has been decided yet and it will be a tough decision but hopefully you will love your name as much as we already love you.

Well that's it for now, we decided to try and keep this online journal so that one day you can read about how it all began and what the days leading up to your birth were like for mommy and daddy.

Can't wait to meet you little peanut....
